A beacon in changing times. Honest conversations with the people who've actually done the work.
After two decades at the intersection of enterprise technology and healthcare, Russell has spent a lot of time in rooms where honest conversation is hard to come by. Polished presentations and rehearsed answers. What works, what failed, and what leaders actually think — tends to stay private. Maclear is an attempt to change that.
Russell works as the healthcare lead at a large multinational technology company in Dubai, advising health systems across the Middle East and UK on AI and digital transformation. He's a Founder of the "Smart Young Things of Healthcare IT" community in the UAE and holds a BSc in Physiotherapy, an MSc in Pain Science, a Post-grad diploma in Management. He is also Fellow of the Chartered Institute of IT (BCS) and Committee Member of the Dubai Science Park Leadership Network.
We've all become ensconced in a digital life. Social media, AI, video calls — and somewhere in all of that, genuine conversation has become harder to come by. Maclear is a pull in the other direction, toward the things that don't scale and can't be automated: social interaction, friendship, listening.
The show is built around one question: how do people make their way through the world? Through their education, their professional journeys, where they are right now, and how they're using the technology in front of them. The answers come from business leaders and entrepreneurs who've built things, lost things, and learned what actually matters.
No PR answers. No rehearsed talking points. Just honest conversation with people who've done the work and are willing to say what they really think.
